My Studio
Unprecedented Time
Early January 2020, I decided to paint modern chairs from the ’50s and added an abstract background. My New Year’s resolution was to create a body of work in which I can exhibit and to be more social. We’ll fast forward, COVID 19 hits, George Floyd died, the economy has fallen and hundreds of thousands of Americans lost their lives to COVID19.
With all this happening globally, I learned to be mindful and dedicate myself to painting because it takes me away from my anxiety and low-grade depression. It slows down my negative thoughts.
I share these feelings because I know you’re having it too. We’ll all get through this together, and we can change what this pandemic had made us become. We can create a new normal with vaccines and boosters and live a healthy, safe and prosperous life. My hope is for everyone to be kind and respect each other.
